Difference Between Offline And Online UPS

Everyday companies depend more and more on computers and other essential electronic equipment. An untimely power outage, without a power backup, can be a real headache – or worse – can cause loss of data and equipment.

 Offline Ups

They use cheaper technology than Online, and this is the main reason why most people opt for them. Think of these UPSs as batteries in a cabinet, this technology controls the current input, and when it falls from a specific level, then it goes to the cabinet and plugs them in, which requires a little adaptation time.

When the offline UPS receives the correct energy signal (AC) from our electrical system, they send it directly to the electronic equipment that we have connected, but when this power input fails, then a transformer changes the current output to the batteries, process It can take a few milliseconds, usually less than 10.  Online Ups

On the contrary, Online UPSs take the alternating current from the mains, converts it to direct current, which charges the batteries. The direct current then becomes alternating through an inverter and is then carried to the connected devices. Because the inverter is always connected to the UPS current output, this current is clean and with perfectly regulated levels, contrary to what happened before with offline.

If, for any reason, we lose the power supply in the office, this will not cause our UPS to have to change work mode, as was the case with the offline UPS. The reaction time that the UPS needs to power our equipment from the batteries is 0 ms.
